Our two nations have a rich history of working together, and basically, the majority of our way of doing business has been modelled from ours! This continues today with exchange postings and supplementation with your UKMCM deployed units.
A link between our Associations may provide a process for establishing and maintaining relationships between MW ratings (UK & AUS) and allow members from both nations to stay in touch from the other side of the globe.
In addition, they have gracefully extended a welcome to any members going to Australia (on holiday or work) who would be very welcome to join us for any social events that might be occurring at that time. An affiliative relationship between our Associations could lead to a very positive outcome.

I spoke with Pawl Stockley yesterday and he has asked me to pass on the following information regarding a new position within the company that he works for. He said the position would suit a MW Senior Rate who is about to leave or has recently left the RN. Below is the edited version of Pawls message giving information on the job. If you are interested, please contact me direct and I will put you in touch with Pawl.
As discussed, Xeretec Group, for whom I work as an Operations & Project Manager, are a platinum Xerox concessionaire, their biggest partner in Europe. We took on a Hewlett Packard partner through acquisition a couple of years ago and are looking to establish an Operations Manager position within them at Horndean. We are looking for a strong service delivery/operations lead, who will manage orders through to installation, moves and changes, break fix, remote support, warehouse and logistics processes.
Translated, a body that can develop or enforce processes, whilst mentoring and leading employees. I think one of the MW senior rate brethren would probably fit the bill, so if there is someone looking for a new opportunity/career path with a Horndean base, this might be worth their getting in touch. A job description is being worked up and available shortly.
Grateful if you would share with anyone you think might be interested.
If we can get one of the boys settled in a new career and fill the companies requirement, it’s a win win.
Time is fast approaching for the next annual gathering of the clan at the Re-union dinner on the 24th March 18. This gives us the ideal opportunity to hold our Annual General Meeting for the Association, for which all members are invited to attend.
I am currently putting together the Agenda for this meeting. If you have a particular item that you would like to add then could you either forward it to me direct or via the website for inclusion.
Items for the agenda will close at 1200 on 23 Feb 18.
Full details on the AGM will be published idc. in the meantime I Look forward to washing the dust of the day away with those of you attending the weekend.
Please be advised that the closing date for purchasing tickets for the MWA 10th Anniversary Reunion Dinner is 2359 on Wednesday 31 January 2018.
