Remembering one of our own

It is with a sad heart we pass on this news.

Many of you will remember Pony Moores (CPO MW).

Our former treasurer George Turnbull has taken a phone call from Pony’s wife (Bernadette)  advising of his sad passing.  He died from cancer and had been ill for some time.  As you know, he was a character within the branch and for many years a staunch supporter of the association.  I  have fond memories of him and have enjoyed some lively runs ashore in his company.

Hopefully we will be able to pass details of a memorial to be held later in his name.

“Personally I remember Pony very well and served with him on the Minesweeping Trials Team at Portland where he was the PO(MW). We had many a great run ashore and have many fond memories of his wicked sense of humour! Especially when sharing a B&B in Mevagissey in Cornwall, among other trials team jobs!” (webmaster)
