Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph – 2022

The annual Service of Remembrance and March-Past at the Cenotaph will take place this year on Sunday 13 November 2022.

The MWA has secured a limited number of tickets to take part which are available for current Association members only. The list to apply for a ticket is open via the form below and closes soon. During this time application forms will be available here via the website (our link to a application form).

Availability of tickets will depend upon the Association’s allocation from the Royal British Legion. In the case of tickets being oversubscribed they will be awarded on a lottery type basis. Please note that priority will be given to those members who have not previously attended this event.

You will be notified of the successful outcome of your application via email. If you do not receive an email you have been unsuccessful this time.

Tickets and joining instructions will be sent out in October, a stamped SAE will be required for the sending of tickets. Address for these will be sent to successful applicants.

The event is subject to many Government restrictions which may be in place at the time.

Members who wish to represent the Association must have a ticket sent out after succesful selection to attend on behalf of the MWA and photographic ID.

There will be a strict clothing policy to attend the event which successful applicants must adhere to.

The clothing requirements are a Navy blue blazer with MWA crest on the brest pocket (new crest with a new design are on order and will be available in the sweepstore), no previous crest design will be accepted, white shirt, Association tie (available in the sweepstore), grey trousers and black shoes with service beret.

Anyone not able to conform to this dress code should not apply.

IMPORTANT DATES

The key dates for 2022 are as follows:

31 Jul 22 – Members to complete there request to take part submitted on the MWA website.

5 Aug 22 – MWA Chairman selects 20 names to represent the Association and informs them they have been successful.

25 August 22 – Deadline for associations to complete individual participant information.

14 September – Application process to re-open for associations to register additional participants if vacancies exist.

October – Tickets and joining instructions sent to associations.

Individual security checks will take place before entry to Horse Guards Parade. Ticket holders are to bring photographic ID and proof of address with them to gain access.

COVID 19

We will continue to monitor government advice for mass gatherings to ensure the health and safety of our participants, which remains our priority, and update accordingly. Should government guidelines necessitate, The Royal British Legion may need to reduce the number of spaces in the Parade at late notice. Please ensure your representatives are aware of this possibility.
