I am sure that you have all been watching the news lately and are fully aware of the situation regarding Covid 19. As a result of this activity, the Naval establishments in Portsmouth have closed all mess social/event facilities for the next six weeks. That of course includes the GI’s Club in HMS Excellent. We did manage to source another venue over the weekend and hoped that we might be able to continue with the annual reunion.
However, things have moved so fast and government guidelines are changing almost hourly, so this afternoon we have made the difficult decision to postpone the reunion to a later date. We are acutely aware of the disappointment that this will cause, however, we must act in a responsible manner and protect the well being and safety of our members, some of whom fall into the “vulnerable” group. There have already been cancellations from a couple of members who feel that they don’t want to be unnecessarily exposed to any risk.
Our Chairman, Taff has proposed a very acceptable option for a reunion later in the year and intends to push out an email later today, so it wouldn’t be fair to steal his thunder.
With regards to refunds. We will of course refund all ticket monies paid immediately. There are two options and it is entirely up to you which one you choose.
Option 1. – Bank Transfer into your account (Preferred method) If this is your choice, then please supply me, via this email address, with your Sort Code and Account No. and I will complete the transfer immediately.
Option 2. – By cheque, in which case please let me have your current address (data base not always up to date) and it will be posted direct to you.
