Update and intentions…
All,
I am sure you have all been expecting this news in light of the recent decisions regarding Covid 19 and the restrictions in place. I expect that it is of no surprise that we find ourselves in a position that much as we wanted to continue with the re-union the situation dictates that the only sensible decision we can take is to cancel the event. I know how disappointed some of you are, especially those of you planning to travel both for the PV unveiling as well as the reunion. It was not an easy choice but cancel was the only option.
George T our treasurer has put out the following with regards to how you can claim back ticket money. Please contact George
with your option.
With regards to refunds. We will of course refund all ticket monies paid immediately. There are two options and it is entirely up to you which one you choose.
- Option 1 – Bank Transfer into your account (Preferred method) If this is your choice, then please supply George with your Sort Code and Account No. and he will complete the transfer immediately.
- Option 2 – By cheque, in which case please let me have your current address (data base not always up to date) and it will be posted direct to you.
For the association we have two outstanding actions:
- To reprogramme the AGM. I will look at this over coming weeks and discuss option of how we can achieve this either by a reduced AGM or publishing it on line
- Plan an alternative Re-Union. I have recently been in discussions with Basher Briggs (One of our two Yeoman Warders) with regards to a visit and social for the MWA at the Tower of London. He is in agreement that this would be an ideal opportunity to have our annual get together. My intentions are therefore to look at putting a reunion get together around this. The date to plan to is the weekend of 25 Sept 20 with the tour and social on Sat 26 September 20 hopefully any restrictions caused through the virus will be lifted by then.
I am sure you will agree this can be a good alternative. I will over coming weeks work with Basher and George to look at a programme and cost which we will get out to you as soon as possible.
In the meantime my thanks go out to George in particular who has spent long hours coordinating not only the PV unveiling activity for us, but working almost solo on putting the re-union together. It has taken a lot of time and effort.
During the coming weeks take care, look after yourselves and families and I look forward to catching up with you all soon.

MWA Chairman
